Despite confirming in June that they had “quietly ended their romance last year,” the couple had been dating for more than ten years.
The breakup has now been discussed in more detail by Lauren, who explained that while there were benefits and downsides, the latter eventually “caught up” with them.
She told People, “I believe part of all the benefits of having known each other for a really long period were there. And one of the drawbacks of that is that we nearly entered a relationship as adults in our 40s without posing any of the appropriate questions.
“We were having so much fun that I may not have asked some basic questions like, ‘What are your values and what do you envision?’ and other more mature things. They quickly caught up with us after that.
After the breakup, the actress who portrayed Lorelai Gilmore on Gilmore Girls said she made the decision to rent a beach house before going back to Los Angeles. She also discussed the difficulties of the separation, particularly after having assisted in raising Roman, Peter’s kid.
I’m less on the run now, she said. “Any form of suffering nevertheless has its moments. We have a connection because I had a role in the lives of his child. And even if I’ve improved, it’s still unfortunate. I just find it sad.”
Have I Told You This Already? is a book of essays that Graham has also been working on. After the split, Stories I Don’t Want to Forget to Remember served as a helpful diversion.
She said, “I thought I was resilient because I just have always been. “You accept your setbacks and don’t whine. I was always raised in that manner.
